Grab some popcorn—just kidding! But if you're into stories about unexpected twists, self-discovery, and a little bit of fate, stick around.
You see, my original dream was simple—or so I thought. I wanted to be an artist, an architect, and a world traveler. It was a vision centered around me—my passions, my aspirations, my adventure. Giving back to society? That wasn’t exactly part of the plan.
But life has a funny way of leading us where we’re meant to be.
The Accidental Detour
In college, I was an irregular student (yes, the kind that enrolls in whatever subject is available just to move forward). One day, I needed to take a particular class, and being my usual impulsive self, I thought, "Sige, enroll tayo—para matapos lang ‘to."
Little did I know, that class would change my life.
I met a teacher who didn’t just teach—he inspired. He sparked something in me, something I never expected: the desire to learn, teach, and inspire others. Just like that, my carefully planned future took a detour, and I found myself walking an entirely different path—toward teaching.
Of course, this journey wasn’t all sunshine and smooth roads. I stumbled—a lot. Old habits lingered, and even after graduation, I was unsure where I truly belonged.
A Reality Check
I tried going back to my original dream. I applied for BPO jobs, thinking maybe this was my chance. But rejection after rejection made me question everything. Eventually, I found myself in a small private school near my hometown.
The work? Overwhelming. The pay? Disheartening. The dream? Nowhere in sight.
But in the midst of it all, something unexpected happened—I fell in love with teaching.
It wasn’t just about delivering lessons; it was about impacting lives. Watching kids learn, grow, and dream bigger made me realize: Maybe I was meant to be here after all.
The Crossroads
Despite my newfound love for teaching, I hit a breaking point. I left the school, along with the students I had grown attached to. I stopped teaching for what felt like an eternity (okay, two months, but still).
I was lost. I wasn’t sure if I had made the right choice. Was teaching really for me? Or was I just fooling myself?
Then, just when I thought my journey had ended, life threw me another surprise.
Enter: We-Learn
One day, while scrolling through Messenger, I noticed a message from my college friends. They had a crazy idea—a new kind of online tutorial program—and they wanted me to be a part of it.
At first, I hesitated. Teaching online? During a pandemic? Was it even possible?
But something inside me whispered, “Why not?”
So, I said yes.
Months of preparation turned into something we never expected. Families and learners from all over the country trusted us. Parents saw their kids thriving. Young minds started dreaming of becoming teachers one day.
What started as an idea became a mission. What started as a job became a calling.
Lessons from the Journey
If there’s one thing I’ve learned, it’s this:
You will fail. Again and again. And that’s okay. Because failure isn’t the end—it’s a stepping stone.
If you fall, stand up. If you get wounded, heal. The past is just a lesson, not a place to stay.
You are not alone. The right people will always be there to support you—you just have to look around.
Part 2 will be posted soon (mostly focus to We-Learn ideal and vision)
